Inter Milan declared the signing of Bastoni for €31 million in 2017, and around the same time, his advance at Atalanta for the following two seasons.

Reports indicate that Chelsea and Manchester City are closely monitoring the situation of Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, potentially eyeing a move for the Italian international.

Bastoni has been a key player for Inter since breaking into the team in 2019 and has amassed 173 appearances for the Italian side, earning a reputation as one of the world’s top left-sided defenders.

CalcioMercato suggests that both Chelsea and Manchester City have their sights set on Bastoni.

However, Inter, currently leading Serie A, is expected to demand a substantial fee of £60 million (€70 million) for the 24-year-old.

Furthermore, if Bastoni were to leave, Inter might seek to acquire central defender Perr Schuurs from league rivals Torino.

An obstacle for the English clubs pursuing Bastoni is the fact that he recently signed a new five-year contract with Inter, keeping him at the club until 2028.

In February, there were concerns within Inter’s camp that Bastoni might not renew his contract and could depart for free in the summer.

Although Premier League clubs Tottenham and Manchester United displayed interest in the defender, neither actively pursued a deal.
