Tyson Fury and Agit Kabayel are in the process of finalizing an agreement for a heavyweight bout on December 5, sources told Mike Coppinger of The Athletic.
Fury was slated to face off against Deontay Wilder in a rematch scheduled for July 18. That fight was later postponed to October after a Wilder injury, and the coronavirus pandemic later destroyed those plans.
Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) is the WBC and lineal heavyweight titleholder. The 32-year-old last fought in February, scoring a seventh-round TKO against Wilder.
Kabayel (20-0-0, 13 KOs) last fought in July, defeating Evgenios Lazaridis via unanimous decision. The 28-year-old German’s most notable victory came against Dereck Chisora in 2017 in a majority decision.
