As of April 3, 2025, there have been no recent reports of head coaches being fired from Detroit’s major sports teams. Dan Campbell remains the head coach of the NFL’s Detroit Lions. Despite a disappointing 45-31 loss to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round of the playoffs earlier this year, Campbell continues to lead the team.
In the NBA, the Detroit Pistons parted ways with head coach Monty Williams on June 19, 2024, after just one season. Williams was dismissed following a challenging season where the team recorded an NBA-worst 14-68 record. He had five years and over $65 million remaining on his contract at the time of his departure.
Currently, there are no updates regarding coaching changes for Detroit’s professional sports teams.
