Victor Moses joins English club as a free agent

Victor Moses, the former Chelsea winger, has made a return to English football, signing with Championship club Luton Town on a free transfer.

The 33-year-old Nigerian parted ways with Spartak Moscow earlier this summer and is now set to bring his experience to Luton as they aim to strengthen their squad.

Moses, who initially joined Spartak Moscow on loan from Chelsea in 2020 before making the move permanent, enjoyed a standout period at Stamford Bridge, notably during the title-winning campaign under Antonio Conte.

His arrival at Luton has sparked excitement, with manager Rob Edwards expressing his optimism, saying, “We believe Victor can add great competition to the squad.”

Having already integrated with the team, Moses featured in a behind-closed-doors match last week, signaling his readiness to contribute.

Luton Town, currently struggling in the Championship with just one point from four games, will hope that Moses’ quality and experience can turn their season around.

Reflecting on his decision, Moses said, “I had several offers from Europe, but I was determined to stay in England. I’m honored to be part of this club and eager to get started.” He also shared his ambitions, adding, “I’m here to enjoy my football, work hard for the team, and help the club return to where it belongs – the Premier League.”

Moses is expected to make his debut in Luton’s upcoming away fixture against Millwall.
