Kelechi Iheanacho scored a first-half brace to hand Nigeria an easy 2-0 victory against Liberia in their 2022 World Cup qualifying at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos State.

Nigeria who began the game splendidly went on in the 24th minutes through Iheanacho after a sharp play from midfielder Alex Iwobi from the right flank.
The Eagles kept on heaping tension on their rival as they looked for their second.
On the stroke of halftime, the Liberians neglected to clear their lines with Iwobi flicking a header to Iheanacho who showed great footwork to opening the ball past the goalkeeper.
Shortly after the match, sponsors gifted Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi one million naira each as the game Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player of the match respectively.
Nigeria are drawn in Group C of the 2022 World Cup against Liberia, Cape Verde, and the Central African Republic.
